Right then, the wait is finally over!
I’m absolutely buzzing because a package just turned up in the post—my new iPhone 17 Pro Max (2TB Orange Edition) is here. I’d heard a few rumours about signal issues and dropped calls with these new units, but fingers crossed Apple gets that sorted with an update. For now, let’s just get into the unboxing.
First Impressions? Opening the box, I was proper happy with the look of it. Sometimes the colour on the box doesn’t quite match the phone, but this one is spot on. Also, I went for the 2TB model because, as you know, I take a massive amount of photos and videos, so I need all the memory I can get.
Quick Dash to Westfield I wasn’t about to peel the plastic off without protection, so I had to make a quick dash down to the Apple Store in Westfield to grab a screen protector.
Usually, they have a machine to fit these perfectly, but I just bought the kit and thought I’d chance it myself. It was a bit risky doing it by hand—didn’t want any dust or bubbles—but I reckon I smashed it. Got it on perfectly, no air bubbles at all. Slapped my purple case on it, and honestly, the orange and purple combo looks quite cool.
The Setup Nightmare (5.5 Hours later…) 😫 It wouldn’t be a vlog without a bit of chaos, would it? I started the data transfer, and somehow it failed halfway through. I had to restart the whole thing, and it ended up taking about 5 and a half hours!.
It was getting late, so I had to finish it off the next day. But we’re finally sorted now. All the apps are back, and I’m really liking that fine orange line around the rim of the phone—looks smart.
The Verdict? I’m chuffed with it so far. I’m going to use it properly for a couple of weeks, see how it runs, and then I’ll do a full review for you lot.
